The coaster has a honed finish, and due to the high variance in patterns in Onyx, there are some coasters that are more linear and some that are more blooming in patterning (see included images for the variance it comes in.) In all, the honed finish creates a soft, velvety, matte texture but it has a faceted appearance that is very subtly dimensional.
