A set of three mini books from the Rare Little Leather Library Books, Redcroft Version (1921 - 1924.) These antique books from the 1920s were originally issued in genuine Leather. Due to the war effort and leather stock being reserved for gear it was replaced with latex coated canvas with interior flocking.
Originally sold as a mail order item, it was advertised in popular magazines and included in Whitman candy boxes sold at Woolworths.
Eventually the imprint was bought by Robert Haas and last new editions were printed in 1925. The publishing house eventually and indirectly led to the creation of Random house.
