Interior Styling 101: 5 Game-Changing Hacks for a Flawless Home!

Look, I’ll be the first to admit that I have a slight obsession with keeping interiors looking effortlessly polished. And if you’re anything like me, you know the little things—those tiny, almost invisible details—are what make a space feel intentional and well-styled. Our team has styled in every kind of situation but there are some essential and key items in our kit.

Over the years, I’ve picked up some tried-and-true tricks that help protect furniture, keep décor in place, and maintain that freshly styled, untouched-by-life look (even if, let’s be real, life is happening all over it). And lucky for you, I’m spilling the tea.

(P.S. If you’re curious about any of the products I mention, I’ve linked them below—just things I genuinely use and love.)

1. Silicone Bumpers – Because Scratches Are Not Chic

If you’ve ever had a tray or vase leave a weird little scratch on your table, you know the heartbreak. So now, I slap these silicone bumpers on the bottoms of trays, vases, and pretty much anything that touches a delicate surface.

They add grip, prevent sliding, and keep everything looking pristine. A total game-changer. The trick is getting a variety of sizes, tiny dots, wider ones, shallow ones, taller ones... and definitely get one in both black and clear. Find them here and here

When to Use:

  • Shallower: Ideal for most, as you want these bumpers to be as invisible as possible
  • Rounded: Best for objects with bases that are not perfectly flat, but in general, I use these the most for almost everything.
  • Taller: Sometimes, you have planters, plates or bowls with feet / a base rim, but you don't want to necessarily put bumpers there, since it will be either a very small surface are or very visible. Sometimes I like to get the taller bumpers, and place it just inside the rim, so it looks like the rim is almost touching the surface, but its actually floating slightly above it.
  • Flat: Best for heavier / larger / wider things where the surface area is needed to distribute weight.
  • Wider circle with a raised middle bump: Best if you need the surface area to grip on to but want it to remain lower profile or less visible.

Pro tips:

  • Make sure you place enough bumpers for the item to be stable, but not too many that it also becomes unstable. Generally, use the size and weight as your guide. For most things, we usually place 5 around the perimeter and one in the middle, but if it is larger, sometimes more.
  • Make sure they're 3M backed, other ones just don't stick as well.

2. Nano Sticker Rounds – The Secret to Keeping Things in Place

Ever had a delicate vase or ceramic piece barely survive a near-death experience? or do you live in California with the ever-present threat of Earthquakes? Yeah, me too. Enter nano sticker tape—aka the invisible hero of home styling. I stick a little of this magic tape underneath wobbly or breakable items on shelves, sometimes even decorative jar tops on the display shelves if its high up, and just like that—no more accidental knock-overs. It’s like earthquake-proofing your shelves, but make it chic. This one works wonders.

Ps. If you ever wondered what Nano Tape actually is:Nano tape is a clear, double-sided adhesive gel tape that provides strong, reusable, and residue-free bonding. It’s made from nano PU gel, which gives it a unique combination of stickiness and flexibility. Unlike traditional tape, nano tape is removable and washable, making it a go-to for securing lightweight items without damaging surfaces.

What Does Nano Tape Work On?

✅ Glass, mirrors, and windows
✅ Tile, ceramic, and marble
✅ Wood (sealed and smooth finishes)
✅ Metal and stainless steel
✅ Plastic and acrylic surfaces

What Doesn’t Nano Tape Work On?

❌ Rough, porous, or textured surfaces (e.g., brick, unfinished wood, concrete)
❌ Delicate wallpaper or painted walls (it may peel off paint)
❌ Surfaces exposed to extreme heat or moisture (e.g., direct sunlight, steam-heavy areas)
❌ Heavy or bulky items (it’s best for lightweight objects)

Pro Tip: Make sure the surface you stick it on is dust, residue and oil free!

3. Sticky Lint Roller – The Ultimate Dusting Hack

Ok so this is actually a lint roller for clothes, but this thing is crazy sticky (assuming from the same nano-tech above) but you can rinse it clean with soap and water with zero loss to its adhesion power. Plus it comes in a case so it won't stick to other stuff unlike a regular roller.

What I've found this MOST useful for:

  • Getting all dust particles off a screen before installing a film.
  • Getting all dust and lint off the back of a frame glass before installing a photo. I can't tell you how often I clean a glass, only for the static nature of it to have one lint appear magically after you've put the back on. It is incredibly annoying.
  • Getting fine dust off uneven surfaces / textured surfaces - I've used this on some porous stone items we were photographing. Vacuum, a hand brush, nothing worked to get these tiny but visible lint pieces out of the tiny holes of the stone, but this took it out in one swipe.

It’s hands down the easiest way to pick up dust from glass, mirrors, and glossy surfaces without streaks or effort. Just roll and go. This is my go-to.

4. Auto Glass Cleaner – Because Streaks Are the Worst

Trust me when I say: regular glass cleaner is overrated. I use auto glass cleaner instead because it leaves everything looking shinier for longer (bonus: it repels dust, adds water repellency). If you’ve got glass coffee tables, mirrors, or even framed art that needs to stay smudge-free, this is the move. Linked it here.

Pro tip: Wipe using a lint free microfiber cloth, but finish in a polishing motion using the eyeglass cleaning cloth once most of the liquid has gone.

5. Eyeglass Cleaning Cloth – The Ultimate Polishing Trick

You know that annoying lint residue paper towels leave behind when you try to clean glass? Yeah, eyeglass cleaning cloths solve that problem. I use them to polish mirrors, glass tables, and even high-gloss finishes. This one’s my fave.

Pro tip: Fantastic to keep around to wipe your phone screen and camera lenses!
